The Mini Vinnies at St Philips’s is a dedicated group of children from years 4 and 5 who are committed to helping others. In September 2019, the children wrote applications to apply to become part of the Mini Vinnies and show their commitment to helping others. The Mini Vinnies get together on a Thursday lunch time with Miss Rowland and the group have been working on establishing our own St Philips’s Mini Vinnies called the ‘Mini Fishes’. We collectively designed our own Mini Fishes logo and are discussing ideas of how we can help others in need.
We voted for our Mini Vinnie leader and we all help to lead the meetings, which focuses on the Gospel for the following Sunday, after which there is some reflection and prayer. We then discuss ideas for helping others in need; and we are excited for our future fundraising ideas.
Each Mini Vinnie member makes the following pledge:
