Safeguarding is a term which relates to the action taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm.  Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and is defined as:

  • Protecting children from maltreatment
  • Preventing impairment of children's health and development
  • Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

As a school, we will always act in our pupil's best interests and ensure we take all reasonable steps to prevent harm to them,  Having safeguards in place within the school not only protects and promotes the welfare of children, but also enhances the confidence of staff, volunteers, governors and parents/carers.

Team Around The School

Each half term, we hold Team Around the School (TAS) meetings.  These TAS meetings are attended by our designated Safeguarding Leads, our School Age Plus worker, our School Nurse, a Social Worker and an Educational Welfare Officer
