St Philip’s Anti-Bullying Charter

At St Philip’s, we are working together to create an environment where all members of our community feel safe and happy about coming to school.

We understand that bullying is when somebody repeatedly hurts us by either their words or actions. The bible commands us to love our neighbour (Mark 12:3) and to treat others the way we would like to be treated. (Luke 6:31)

How can we keep our school a safe and happy place?

v  If someone is sad, ask them if they are ok and if they would like to play with us.

v  Treat everybody with respect regardless of any difference they may have from us.

v  Think before we say or do it! It best not to say it if it is not kind.

v  Always report bullying to an adult.

v  If a friend is experiencing bullying, be there for them and encourage them to speak with an adult.

v  Remember, bullying can happen online so always use kind words.

v  Be responsible – if you haven’t been kind, listen and think about the impact your words/actions have caused.

v  Use kind words, kind hands and kind feet.

What to do if you have a problem:

v  Use the worry box in the classroom to let your teacher know you are not happy about something.

v  Talk to any member of staff within school

v  Tell family members who look after you at home

v  Talk to your friends – they can support you at school.
